Tucker's

Tucker's is the place to be each and every night of the week. If you're looking for the party spot, then you've found it. Tucker's has all the best music being spun by the hottest DJ's, a line that circles around the building and liquor constantly flowing. It's where everyone who is anyone in San Junipero goes to party the night and their troubles away! (That is, if you can manage to have any troubles in such a paradise.) The doors open the moment that the sun goes down and the party doesn't stop until it rises again. Inside, there are arcade games (consistent with the current decade of that day.), a dance floor (but it's usually pretty packed with people letting loose.) with a DJ working their magic behind a state of the art sound system, and a bar with an assortment drink special each night. Get there early, though, seats at the bar fill up quick!

Diaz Beach

The sun, the sand, the ocean waves and a cool drink in your hand? That's what you'll find on Diaz Beach. During the day, you can find residents and visitors in various states of undress (hopefully they haven't stripped all the way down to nothing!) soaking up the rays, playing on the sand (beach volleyball, badminton, frisbee and sand soccer are all popular choices for the locals.) or splashing in the water. Be careful, however, there's not always a lifeguard on duty -- unless you're looking for a little mouth-to-mouth.

The Strip

The strip, the boardwalk, the little string of shops offering greasy foods (depending on what day you visit, there are specials that change daily.), overpriced touristy merchandise (if you're in the market for a shirt emblazoned with the words: Heaven is a Place on Earth, then you're in luck.), "haunted" houses, fortune tellers and various carnival attractions (If you have enough tickets, you can get yourself a stuffed animal bigger than yourself.). It's a good place to spend time, have fun and... of course, spend money.

Housing

Permanent residents of San Junipero are provided with a home free of charge. All homes come with basic furnishings and appliances, but can be expanded upon and changed to the resident's liking. Be as creative as you'd like with this, go wild! Every character has free reign over their own residence.

The schedule of decades is as follows (once again, use of this calendar is not mandatory. Don't feel as though you are bound by it. It's simply an added, fun aspect of gameplay meant to encourage players to mingle and explore different timelines they wouldn't normally play in):

SUNDAY : 1950s
MONDAY : 1960s
TUESDAY : 1970s
WEDNESDAY : 1980s
THURSDAY : 1990s
FRIDAY : 2000s
SATURDAY : 2010s

Tucker's

Parties aren't really her scene, but someone could tell that from the everything about Ellie. At least when she's in San Junipero her scarring is gone, so she isn't quite as worried about people looking at her. She came on Sunday, wearing a circle dress and matching bolero that seem just a bit more like a child's outfit than a grown woman's. In fact, her mannerisms too are very reminiscent of a child lost in a store, unsure of how to approach others.

She accidentally steps on someone's toe, and her face blanches. "I'm sorry! Sorry..." Why did she come here again? She should leave. It will all be downhill from here.

The Strip

Boardwalks are just as scary as parties - just as many people - but they're at least a bit quieter. Ellie is wandering around the carnival games when she spots a huge stuffed lion, and makes a beeline for it. Once she gets up to it, though, she realizes that getting that lion requires being barked at by the carny whose voice is much too loud for her sensibilities. Maybe she'll just back away... oh, but she really wants that lion. If anyone else is after this game, they'll find her shuffling like a mouse and trying to decide whether to flee or face the danger of.. a children's game.

To be honest, parties and Ned were typically a disaster. Peter wasn't here just now and so he was kind of moseying around with no particular intent. He smiles at Ellie when she apologizes and he shakes his head holding up his hands like he's trying to say 'whoa whoa' with them.

"It's okay," he grins. "I'm Ned, what's your name?" Even if parties aren't his thing really, he's still good at talking to people and being friendly.

If anything she seems more startled by him moving, but she settles after making sure that he isn't immediately going to yell at her. He can't be happy about her bumping into him, but.. she's already very used to being scolded for over-apologizing, and she bites her tongue on another 'sorry'.

"Ellie- I'm.. Ellie." Should she give a handshake? Curtsy? Or just stand here? She's opting for just standing here, wringing her hands awkwardly. "Is it always so- loud here?"

Ned wouldn't have scolded, at least he wouldn't have meant to scold but he was really okay with it. It gives an easy way to start talking to someone new right? She seems kind of nervous and he can relate to that.

"Yeah, it's usually pretty loud. It's nice to meet you Ellie. Is the noise bothering you?"

Diaz Beach

Jackie got over the party scene on day four; she can respect people who want to live fast, but she's lived fast before and she's happy to take it slow from now on. She can be found lounging in a beach chair, reading a book under the shade of a palm tree. This is the exact sort of thing she really wishes she could have gotten before she came here... but she can enjoy it now, that's what matters.

Someone might catch her looking up and people-watching every once in a while, though. She isn't the type to talk to strangers, but she can't hide that she wants someone to talk to her.

The Strip

There are posters going up around the boardwalk. They feature a (rather serviceable) drawing of a young man, close to a police sketch, with messy hair, thick-rimmed glasses and a prominent nose. The poster reads "Have you seen me? Answers to James Walker. May be 17-42, most likely to be seen in the 90s. If you have information, find Jackie Jacobson."

Jackie can be found with a messenger bag rather obviously full of these posters, going around and taping them up or handing them to people she passes. She can rest when James has been located and given a thorough scolding for not visiting.

Rio doesn't particularly want to be handed a poster so he doesn't accept it when she tries to hand him one but he looks a bit amused at the fact of someone putting up missing posters in a place like this.

"Ain't that a bit weird?" he asks, rude or not -- he doesn't really care.

She raises her shoulders in a soft, long-suffering shrug.

"Believe me, 'weird' takes on a whole different meaning in my family... I'm looking for my father, and I'm guessing he should be showing up any day now since I've crossed over. Wouldn't happen to have seen him, would you?"

Her tone is short and snippy, less like a concerned daughter and more like a manager trying to run inventory. She's... grieving in her own way. But given that her father is an unemployed alcoholic who's been fully dependent on her for the last ten years, it's just pragmatic to get ready for his arrival.
